Share your love of gardens, wildlife and plants in this free community volunteer program that helps to inspire wildlife friendly gardens in Warrnambool's front and backyards. No time limit or experience is required, just a passion for gardens and wildlife.

Volunteers visit community members gardens, and provide advice and support to plan wildlife friendly environments.

Skilled Volunteers, Young Adults, 18 - 24

Commitment

Regular - more than 6 months

Training

Training is provided to further develop skills & knowledge around habitat gardening & caring for wildlife in backyards.

Time required

Garden assessments will require a time commitment of 2 hours plus travel Garden assessments consist of: • Garden visit (1 hour plus travel time) and • Garden recommendation report (1 hour)

Requirements

Driver's Licence (C)
National Police Certificate
Working with Children Check

• Passion for the conservation of indigenous plants and animals • Willingness to learn and share • Good communication skills • Attention to detail • Plant identification skills and gardening knowledge would be an advantage
