Are you an outgoing, confident person? Have you worked in a school, been on a P&C, maybe a retired or part-time schoolteacher, or just a great all rounder in the office?

The Schools Fundraising Coordinator ensures that school events and incursions are well organised, safe, engaging and aligned with WFKA’s mission of providing life-changing mobility to children in developing countries.

Scope of Responsibility

  • Lead and coordinate the delivery of Wheel-a-thon events in primary schools.
  • Work toward securing an annual goal of 10 Wheel-a-thons (subject to team availability).
  • Recruit, onboard and support a small team of Wheel-a-thon volunteers to assist with school events and trailer logistics.
  • Liaise with principals, teachers and school administration to plan event dates, course layout, fundraising approach and key messaging.
  • Coordinate delivery, setup and return of the Wheel-a-thon trailer and equipment, ensuring wheelchairs and materials are event-ready.
  • In collaboration with the WFKA office, ensure all volunteers hold current Working With Children Checks and operate within agreed safety and child-safe procedures.
  • Oversee event-day operations (or deputise this role as needed) to ensure activities run smoothly, safely and reflect WFKA’s values of dignity and inclusion.
  • Ensure schools understand and embrace the fundraising opportunity and impact message (e.g. every $300 raised gifts a wheelchair to a child).
  • Monitor participation levels, funds raised and opportunities to grow the program.
  • Ensure schools are acknowledged appropriately, including certificates and social media engagement in collaboration with office staff.
  • Provide regular communication and quarterly meetings (or as needed) for other volunteers, including the agenda and minutes. These should be saved on the WFKA server.
  • Provide post-event summaries and monthly activity updates to the Fundraising Working Group (FWG).

This role works with and will be supported by the Fundraising & Communications Lead.
