Riddells Creek Neighbourhood House is looking for friendly, community-minded volunteers to help establish and support regular social groups and activities for people in our local community.

We want to create welcoming opportunities where people can meet others, reduce social isolation, build friendships and enjoy meaningful activities in a relaxed environment.

We are particularly interested in volunteers who would enjoy helping with activities such as: • Coffee & Chat • Arts & Crafts • Jigsaw Puzzles • Board Games • Music or Singalong Groups • Men's or Women's Social Groups • Family and Community Activities • Other hobby-based or interest-based groups

The role may involve helping to facilitate an existing group, assisting with setting up a new activity, or sharing your own interests and ideas to help develop a regular community group.

Key activities may include: • Welcoming participants and helping people feel comfortable • Supporting conversations and social connection • Helping organise simple activities • Setting up and packing away materials • Encouraging participation and inclusion • Sharing hobbies, skills or ideas • Helping a group run regularly on a weekly, fortnightly or occasional basis • Providing feedback and suggestions to help improve activities

You do not need to be a professional facilitator or have formal qualifications. We are looking for people who are approachable, reliable, patient and genuinely interested in helping others connect.

Whether you enjoy crafts, games, puzzles, conversation, music or simply bringing people together, your contribution could help make a real difference in the community. This is a rewarding opportunity to meet new people, share your interests and help create a stronger, more connected and welcoming community.
