Join Our Mission — Volunteer With Gulagbi

Gulagbi is entering an exciting new chapter, and we’re inviting passionate, skilled volunteers to join our growing team.

As a not-for-profit organisation based in Far North Queensland, Gulagbi – Collaborative Sustainable Developments Ltd is dedicated to supporting mothers, babies, and families through holistic, culturally-appropriate pregnancy and postpartum care — and empowering communities both locally and globally through sustainable development projects.

To continue this work and expand our reach, we’re seeking volunteers with experience, initiative, and heart to take on key support roles within our organisation.

As our Grant Writer, you will play an active role in assisting Gulagbi to secure essential funding to support our local and international programs.

Key responsibilities:

  • Research and identify relevant grants and funding opportunities
  • Prepare compelling, accurate grant proposals and reports
  • Collaborate with team members to gather data and project information
  • Maintain a grants calendar and track application progress

Ideal candidate:
An experienced grants writer with attention to detail and a genuine commitment to community wellbeing and social justice.

We are a grassroots not for profit organisations, with most achievements to date largely self-funded by the founder. As Gulagbi prepares to expand its reach and offerings, we are now seeking the support of a Grant Writer to secure grants and funding to make this work possible.

This is an unpaid, remote, volunteer role, which can be completed flexibly on a schedule that suits you. We are looking for someone with availability of 5-10 hours per month, as well as attending a monthly board meeting via video call.
