Do you enjoy gardening and spending time outdoors? Join our team as an Aged Care Garden Activity Volunteer and help residents experience the joy, relaxation, and wellbeing that comes from connecting with nature.

In this rewarding role, you'll support residents to participate in a variety of gardening activities, encouraging social connection, gentle physical activity, and time in the fresh air. Whether it's planting flowers, watering garden beds, repotting seedlings, or simply sharing a conversation while outdoors, your time can make a meaningful difference.

Key Duties

  • Support residents to participate in gardening activities led by Lifestyle staff
  • Assist with planting, repotting, watering, and light weeding
  • Help maintain vegetable, flower, or general garden areas
  • Encourage residents to enjoy outdoor spaces and engage in activities at their own pace
  • Foster social connection through friendly conversation and companionship
  • Work alongside staff to create enjoyable and inclusive gardening experiences

Skills and Experience

No formal gardening experience is required. We welcome volunteers who:

  • Enjoy gardening or being outdoors
  • Have a friendly, patient, and compassionate nature
  • Are reliable and willing to engage with older people
  • Are able to work safely in an outdoor environment
  • Can communicate respectfully with residents, families, and staff
