Share your language and culture, with a Greek-speaking woman in your community.

Wesley Mission

Logo for Wesley Mission

Sally* is in her 70s and lives in her own home. She is a warm, social lady who enjoys meeting new people and values meaningful connection. While Sally is fluent in English, her Greek heritage remains an important part of her identity, and she would love the opportunity to use her Greek language skills more often.

Sally* enjoys spending time in her garden, chatting over a cuppa, and hearing about other people's lives and experiences. She has a particular fondness for children and enjoys conversations about family, community, and everyday life.

A volunteer who speaks Greek and enjoys friendly conversation would be a wonderful match for Sally. Whether sharing stories, discussing gardening, or simply enjoying a cup of tea together, regular visits could develop into a valued friendship and help Sally stay connected to her language and culture.

We're looking for a kind and reliable volunteer who can commit to regular visits and enjoys connecting with others through shared interests, practical activities and conversation.

As a Wesley volunteer, you'll receive:

  • Ongoing support from your Wesley Volunteer Coordinator
  • Training and guidance to help you get started
  • A carefully considered match
  • Invitations to volunteer recognition and celebration events

If you can spare an hour a fortnight, we'd love to hear from you.

Sometimes the best way to build a friendship is to start with a shared interest.
