This volunteer opportunity will help to bring friendship, connection and a little more joy to someone's day
Volunteers spend time getting to know residents, their stories, interests, personality, culture, life experiences and all the little things that make them smile, while celebrating the uniqueness of every person.
Grevillea Gardens is home to over 60 residents and has a lovely country garden feel, with an emphasis on community, friendship and enjoying the outdoors. It is surrounded by established gardens and native wildlife, giving residents and visitors plenty of opportunities to enjoy greenery, fresh air and peaceful spaces.

✅ What you’ll be doing:
- spend time with residents and provide friendly conversation
- have a chat, share a cuppa, relax in the cafe, gardens or one of the many communal spaces
- get to know each person's unique interests, stories, personality and preferences
- Assist the Wellness Team to create a welcoming and positive environment where everyone feels valued for who they are
- Respect each person's choices, privacy, dignity and independence

☑️ Requirements of this role include:

We are seeking volunteers who enjoy the company of older people, with good listening skills and can communicate to people from diverse backgrounds in ways which are respectful and courteous.
Volunteers should be patient, genuine and reliable and be able to encourage others in a gentle manner. They should have a good sense of humour and a willingness to make a difference to others and themselves.
No previous experience in aged care is required.
