Volunteer Walk Organiser to lead walks in Balgowlah

Are you passionate about supporting your community to be healthier and more connected? Or are keen to meet more people in your area, while boosting your health?
Heart Foundation Walking in partnership with Balgowlah Village, Sydney are rolling out a free walking program that brings people together to move more, feel better and connect with other locals.
We’re seeking friendly, motivated volunteers across the region to lead free walking groups in Balgowlah and surrounding suburbs.
Help members of your community improve their health, wellbeing, and social connection — just by walking together.
No experience needed — full training, helpful resources and ongoing support provided by the Heart Foundation.
Become a walk organiser today!
As a walk organiser, you’ll help bring people together by:
- choosing a regular time and place/s to walk
- welcoming new walkers, and recording attendance at walks
- creating a relaxed, friendly and inclusive environment
- spreading the word about your group within your community
- taking images of the walking group to further encourage sign ups
- lead walkers to a post-walk location within Balgowlah Village for a coffee
All paces, abilities and ages (+18) encouraged.
This is a flexible volunteer opportunity that suits your schedule. At this stage, we are looking at hosting the walk EVERY Wednesday morning.
