Event Organiser Team Leader (Volunteer, Remote)

Events Team Leader (Volunteer, Remote)
Have you coordinated events and would like to step into a leadership role? Lead a small, friendly team of volunteer Events Organisers and help deliver community markets and fundraising events that support disadvantaged youth in regional and rural Australia.
About Us
Lifestyle Markets Australia Inc is a registered charity and not-for-profit organisation bringing communities together through multicultural markets and fundraising events across Victoria and New South Wales. Every dollar raised supports Kinds of Happiness (KOH), a charity dedicated to empowering disadvantaged youth in regional and rural Australia through mentoring, farming programs, and skills development. When you volunteer with us, you are directly supporting that mission.
At a Glance
- Time commitment: around 5 hours per week, flexible around your schedule
- Location: fully remote and open to anyone in Australia. If you are near one of our events, you are welcome to help on the day, but it is not required
- Reports to: the Director
- Team: you will lead a team of around three Events Organiser volunteers, coordinating approximately 10 to 12 events a year
About the Role
The Events Team Leader leads and supports a team of volunteers who organise and coordinate LMA's calendar of events, working closely with our Admin Team. You will make sure the team runs smoothly, volunteers feel well supported, and event planning tasks are completed to a high standard.
LMA is a genuine training ground for its volunteers. In this role, you will help create an environment where team members build real, transferable skills in events coordination and leadership, and you will help shape the processes and training that help others grow within the organisation.
The Events You Will Help Deliver
- Multicultural markets: regular and seasonal markets bringing together stallholders, food vendors, and local makers from diverse cultural backgrounds, held in various locations in Victoria and New South Wales
- Fundraising events: community dining and social events held in scenic locations, where guests come together to raise funds for KOH
Every event is different, so you will gain experience across stallholder coordination, venue liaison, scheduling, promotion, and on-the-day planning.
What a Typical Week Looks Like
You might check in with your team on upcoming event tasks, answer questions in the team chat, join a weekly online team meeting, and work with the Admin Team to keep planning on track.
