Event Organiser (Volunteer, Remote)

Lifestyle Markets Australia Inc. (LMA) is a registered charity and not-for-profit organisation that brings communities together through multicultural markets and family-focused fundraising events across Victoria. All proceeds support Kinds of Happiness (KOH), a charity dedicated to empowering disadvantaged youth in regional and rural Australia through mentoring, farming programs and skills development. AT A GLANCE
Time commitment: around 5 hours per week, flexible around your schedule
**Duration: ****a minimum of 6 months
**Location: ****fully remote and open to anyone in Australia. If you are near our Victorian events, there is the option to help on the day, but it is not required.
Reports to: the Events Team Leader
Training: provided, so you can learn how LMA plans and runs its events

ABOUT THE ROLE
As an Event Organiser, you will help coordinate and deliver the community and fundraising events that create opportunities for rural and regional youth. You will work alongside the team to plan engaging events, build relationships with stallholders and local businesses, and help create memorable experiences for attendees and supporters.
THE EVENTS YOU WILL HELP DELIVER
LMA runs a varied calendar of community events, including:
Multicultural markets: regular markets bringing together stallholders, food vendors and local makers from diverse cultural backgrounds, held in various location across Victoria and NSW
Fundraising events: community dining and social events held in scenic locations, where guests come together to raise funds for KOH
WHAT A TYPICAL WEEK LOOKS LIKE
You might follow up with stallholders about an upcoming market, update the event calendar and compliance tracker, respond to a few enquiries, and join our weekly online team meeting to catch up on progress.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Attend training and weekly online team meetings
- Coordinate with stallholders, local makers, businesses, community groups and venues to keep events running smoothly
- Help manage event calendars and deadlines
- Respond to event-related enquiries
- Work with internal teams on promotions, registrations and communications
- Help keep stallholder licences and compliance documents up to date
- Keep accurate records so the team always knows where things are up to
- Help identify possible sponsorship opportunities, with support from the wider team
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Previous experience in events organisation
- Clear, friendly and professional written communication
- Attention to detail and the ability to juggle tasks
- Reliability and the ability to work independently in a remote setting
- Comfort with online meetings, shared documents and digital tools such as Google Workspace
- A willingness to learn, develop new skills and connect with other volunteers
IT IS A BONUS IF YOU HAVE
- Experience working with stallholders, vendors or suppliers
- An interest in fundraising or sponsorship
- Previous volunteer or not-for-profit experience
