AT A GLANCE

• Time commitment: around 6 to 8 hours per week, flexible around your schedule
• Duration: a minimum of 6 months
• Location: fully remote and open to anyone in Australia
• Team: you will lead a team of around 8 Events Admin Assistants, working closely with our Event Organiser Team
• Reports to: the Director
• Support: an established workflow, a training pack for new team members

ROLE PURPOSE
Behind every event that changes a young person's life, there is a team keeping things running. As Events Admin Team Leader, you will lead the volunteers who provide that behind-the-scenes support for LMA's markets and fundraising events. You will make sure the team's work is accurate and on time, that your volunteers feel supported, and that the Event Organisers have the information they need to plan with confidence.

LMA is a genuine training ground for its volunteers. In this role, you will build real leadership experience and help your team develop practical, transferable skills in administration and events.

THE EVENTS YOUR TEAM WILL SUPPORT
LMA runs a varied calendar of community events, including:

• Multicultural markets: regular / seasonal markets bringing together stallholders, food vendors and local makers from diverse cultural backgrounds, held in various locations across Victoria and NSW
• Fundraising events: community dining and social events held in scenic locations, where guests come together to raise funds for KOH

WHAT A TYPICAL WEEK LOOKS LIKE
You might check that the compliance tracker is up to date for the next market, share out the week's tasks, catch up with the Events Team Leader about upcoming events, answer a few questions in the team chat, and run the weekly online team meeting.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead, support and coordinate a small team of Events Admin Assistants
• Oversee the stallholder compliance tracker, making sure records are accurate and missing or expired documents are flagged to the Event Organisers
• Allocate tasks and keep track of progress so deadlines are met
• Work closely with the Events Team Leader and Event Organisers to understand what each event needs
• Liaise with the Finance team on stallholder lists, cancellations and refund requests
• Run weekly online team meetings and act as the first point of contact for your team
• Support the onboarding and training of new team members
• Contribute ideas to improve how the team works

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

• Experience in administration, operations or a similar role, whether paid or volunteer
• Experience guiding, supervising or coordinating others
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail, including confidence with spreadsheets
• Clear, friendly communication and the ability to work reliably in a remote setting
• Comfort with Google Workspace and other online tools

IT IS A BONUS IF YOU HAVE

• Experience leading a remote or volunteer team
• Experience with compliance records or process improvement
• Previous volunteer or not-for-profit experience
