Team: Workplace Communication & Public Speaking Club
Reporting to: PSC Operational President
Location: Adelaide-based only (Hybrid)
Commitment: 3–4 hours per fortnight
Note: This role offers flexibility, with work able to be completed across the week at your own pace. Volunteers are expected to attend relevant meetings and support or lead activities as required.
About the Workplace Communication & Public Speaking Club
The Workplace Communication & Public Speaking Club helps participants build confidence in professional communication while developing an understanding of Australian workplace communication styles, expectations, and norms.
CLCN is seeking an Event Officer to support the Club with event coordination, project management, stakeholder engagement, and day-to-day operations. Working closely with the WPC President, the role will help coordinate events and activities, support team members, maintain operational systems, and build positive relationships with participants and stakeholders. This hands-on opportunity provides practical experience while contributing to initiatives that support employability, social cohesion, and multicultural communities across South Australia.
Key Responsibilities
As an Event Officer, you will:
- Assist with planning, organising, and delivering WPC events, activities, and initiatives to ensure smooth operations and strong participant engagement.
- Support event logistics, including venue setup, materials, schedules, registrations, and coordination with relevant partners or suppliers.
- Support stakeholder relationship management, including maintaining professional communication with participants, speakers, partners, volunteers, and other stakeholders.
- Assist with coordinating communication and follow-ups to ensure stakeholders are informed, engaged, and supported.
- Support record-keeping and reporting, including guest registration, attendance tracking, outcomes, and internal summaries.
- Provide on-the-day operational support, including photography or videography where required.
- Support the WPC President with project coordination, task tracking, timelines, and follow-ups.
- Develop and maintain basic procedures, workflow documentation, templates, trackers, and other operational resources.
- Monitor progress against agreed activities and identify issues or gaps requiring follow-up.
- Identify opportunities to improve team workflows, processes, and operational efficiency.
- Work collaboratively with PSC team members and other CLCN teams to ensure activities are aligned with project goals and operational requirements.
- Provide general operational and administrative support as required.
