About the Role:
3126 Magazine is an independent community magazine produced quarterly by a small team of local volunteers, supported by Canterbury Neighbourhood Centre (CNC). The photographer works alongside the editor and other volunteers in the development and distribution of the magazine, which is distributed four times each year. The magazine is distributed by our friendly volunteer walking team.
The role of the photographer is to take photographs in support of articles written, at the direction of the Editor and other volunteers. The photographer may also be required to provide photographs suitable for the front cover and/or advertisements.
About you: (including skills and experience)
- Provide your own equipment suitable for photographing portraits, environmental portraits and events, or other assignments as required. This also includes equipment used for post processing and the ability to upload completed images into Dropbox.
- Contribute to the publication by providing original written articles.
- Photographic skills, knowledge and expertise that will successfully deliver a first-class publication.
- Good communication skills, both spoken and written.
- A warm and inclusive approach to community engagement.
- Flexible and available weekdays
- Ability to meet publishing deadlines.
As a volunteer, you will:
- Be covered by our insurance
- Receive induction and ongoing support from the CNC staff team.
- Gain experience in organising guest speakers, workshops, and group facilitation.
