About the opportunity
Primary Purpose of the Position
ABV is seeking a volunteer Funding and Investment Strategy Advisor to help develop a sustainable funding and investment approach**** for the Far East Flaneur, an innovative regenerative tourism initiative in East Gippsland that connects visitors with local stories, culture and nature-based experiences. Following a successful pilot in 2026, the initiative is now planning for future growth and is seeking a funding and investment strategy that supports long-term sustainability while maintaining its community-led values and local impact.
In this role, you will review existing project documentation and pilot outcomes, assess current and future funding requirements, and identify suitable funding, revenue-generation and investment opportunities. You will work with key stakeholders to understand strategic priorities and develop practical recommendations for a sustainable funding model that supports growth, community benefit and long-term financial viability. You will also explore grants, sponsorship, philanthropy, partnerships, social enterprise opportunities and other potential investment pathways.
Selection Criteria:
Essential Experience
- Experience in funding strategy, investment planning, business development, social enterprise or organisational sustainability.
- Strong research, financial analysis and strategic planning skills.
- Experience identifying and assessing funding, revenue or investment opportunities.
- Ability to develop practical recommendations for community-based organisations.
Desirable Experience

Experience with not-for-profit organisations, social enterprises or community-led initiatives.

Experience working with regional or rural communities.

Understanding of tourism, regenerative tourism, community development or economic resilience.

Experience securing grants, sponsorships, investment or partnership funding.Role information:
