Volunteer Web Support Intern

Breast Cancer Network Australia

Logo for Breast Cancer Network Australia

Every year, Breast Cancer Network Australia supports thousands of people to navigate the impacts of breast cancer. Our digital information and support tools are essential mechanisms for delivering that service.

This is an opportunity to make a difference and to gain real world experience managing, updating and optimizing website content for Australia’s leading breast cancer support organisation.

Reporting to the Head of Digital & Projects, you'll use your understanding of back-end content management systems operation and meta-data fields to update and optimise Breast Cancer Network Australia’s website. You'll be supported by an experienced and supportive team.

This role supports the Member and Digital Experience team with supervised website content administration. It involves uploading pre-approved content into the BCNA Content Management System, making routine updates to existing web pages, checking that links, headings, images and page layouts appear as intended, and helping identify pages that may need updating, archiving or follow-up review by the team.

Tasks include

  • Uploading pre-approved and finalised content into the BCNA Content Management System, including page copy, headings, images, documents, links and other provided assets.
  • Ensuring that uploaded copy is accurate, precise and presents as intended, including titles, headings, images and metadata
  • Entering supplied SEO information and metadata into the CMS, such as page titles, meta descriptions, image alt text, tags and categorisation fields, in line with BCNA guidance.

You will not be responsible for writing new health information, approving content for publication, making clinical or health content decisions, changing website structure, or publishing material without review and approval from an appropriate BCNA team member.
