Garden, Book and Bytes Companion for Noreen.

Noreen is in her late 80s and is living in aged care. She has no family now to visit with her. Many older people living in aged care miss having a friend to visit, who shares mutual interests.
Noreen spent many years working in the government. She played golf, did Tai Chi and walked every day. A companion will find plenty of engaging ways to connect while making a meaningful difference in her daily life.
She now likes music and reading.
By helping her navigate her iPad, you will open her world. You can teach her how to download audiobooks, stream her favourite music, or make video-calls.
Bonding over music is very therapeutic. You can help her discover new artists, listen to her old favourites, or create custom playlists together.
We're looking for a kind and reliable volunteer who can commit to regular visits and enjoys connecting with others through shared interests, practical activities and conversation.
As a Wesley volunteer, you'll receive:
- Ongoing support from your Wesley Volunteer Coordinator
- Training and guidance to help you get started
- A carefully considered match
- Invitations to volunteer recognition and celebration events
If you can spare an hour a fortnight, we'd love to hear from you.
Sometimes the most meaningful friendships begin with a shared playlist and a simple conversation.
