Enjoy gardening? Help create beautiful spaces while making a positive difference in your local community. We are seeking volunteers who are interested in supporting the maintenance of our yard and gardens at Hummingbird House in Chermside.

Hummingbird House is Queensland’s only children’s hospice. We provide short break stays, family support services, creative therapies, and care at the end of life, for children with life-limiting conditions and their families. Hummingbird House is a place where kids can be kids, families can reconnect, and precious memories can be created.

Volunteers will provide practical and physical support in maintaining the indoor and outdoor gardens, ensuring the grounds are well presented. This may include tasks such as weeding, pruning, watering, and raking. Volunteers will assist staff to ensure our guests and their families can enjoy the vibrant outdoor environment of Hummingbird House.

Volunteer hours are flexible and are agreed upon prior to commencement.

Volunteers are required to provide proof of vaccination status as required by Legislation, Health Directives or Wesley Mission Queensland Policy prior to commencement and throughout their engagement with us and follow a COVID-19 safe work plan at all times.
