Advocacy Campaign Coordinator - Animal Justice Party Qld

Animal Justice Party

Logo for Animal Justice Party

Purpose

  • Lead advocacy campaigns on animal issues that matter including research, building relationships with other organisations and coordinating public pressure campaigns. You'll be the person who figures out what needs to change, who else cares about it, and how we can work together to make it happen.

Not every campaign needs to be huge. Sometimes it's a social media push; sometimes it's a formal coalition. You and the Campaigns Manager will decide what fits.

    Key Duties

  • Research an issue: Understand the current law or policy, what needs to change, and who has the power to change it

  • Reach out to relevant NGOs: Animal welfare groups, environmental organisations, community groups, or others who care about the same issue

  • Build relationships: Have conversations, share information, find common ground. You're the friendly face of AJP QLD to other organisations

  • Work with the Campaigns Manager on next steps and decide what kind of campaign is right (social media push, letter-writing, meeting with MPs, coalition letter, etc.)

  • Build a working group if needed: For bigger campaigns, bring together volunteers and NGO partners to share the load. For smaller ones, you might handle it with just the Campaigns Manager

  • Coordinate the campaign: Keep track of tasks, deadlines, and who's doing what. Make sure things actually happen

  • Report back: Keep the Campaigns Manager, social media team and relevant other team members updated on progress

Skills & Experience Needed

  • Strong organisational skills, creativity, and initiative.

  • If you have previous experience in planning, project management, or advocacy, that’s a plus, but not mandatory.
  • Openness to learning new skills and approaches
