Animal Justice Party Qld - Volunteers, we need you!

Purpose

The most effective and rapid way to achieve change for animals is through the Australian parliamentary system and changing legislation. As a volunteer, you will play an instrumental role in making that happen.

Key Duties

There are many exciting roles available, including helping at market stalls, with social media, organising events, fundraising, other media, writing submissions, training other volunteers, joining, creating or running a Regional Group, starting a Youth Wing (under 29), marketing, policy, membership administration, IT, statistics, as well as leadership roles in Advocacy/Campaigns.
We need dedicated people to run in Local Council areas as Candidates in the 2028 elections.
During election time (next ones coming up in 2028) we need lots of volunteers to hand out How To Vote cards at voting centres on pre-polling and polling days. This is a great way to engage with thousands of people and asking them to Vote 1 for positive change for animals. Handing out How to Vote Cards significantly increases the number of votes we receive, and the more votes we receive, the greater our chance of making legislative changes for animals.

Skills & Experience Needed

No professional experience required; training and support provided.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative group.
Passion for animal advocacy and creating positive change.
If you have previous experience in these volunteer roles, that’s a plus, but not mandatory.
Openness to learning new skills and approaches

Organisational Background

The team is part of a political organisation dedicated to animal justice, promoting compassionate policies and building awareness of animal exploitation.
Events range from grassroots advocacy to high-impact campaigns, sometimes partnering with other advocacy groups and legislative initiatives.
The AJP prioritises transparency, teamwork, and creative activism.
