Do You Speak Greek? Female Volunteer Visitor Needed – Lyneham

Ageing with Grace is looking for a warm and compassionate Greek-speaking female volunteer to provide companionship to an older lady living in residential aged care in Lyneham.
As she has grown older and experienced some cognitive changes, speaking in her native Greek language has become increasingly important and comforting to her. She is feeling lonely and would greatly benefit from regular one-on-one visits with someone who can chat with her in Greek and provide a familiar and reassuring connection.
She previously enjoyed cooking and gardening and is of the Greek Orthodox faith. Her mobility is now very limited, so visits would simply involve sitting together, chatting in Greek, sharing stories and providing friendly companionship.
You don’t need any aged care experience – just patience, kindness, conversational Greek and a genuine interest in spending time with an older person.
Visits are generally around one hour each fortnight, with timing arranged to suit both the volunteer and the aged care home.
If you are a Greek-speaking woman who would like to make a meaningful difference through conversation and companionship, we would love to hear from you.
