Make a Difference – Female Volunteer, Sri Lankan/Indian/Nepalese – Hughes

Ageing with Grace is looking for a warm and compassionate female volunteer to provide companionship to a lady in her early 70s living in a residential aged care home in Hughes.
Originally from Sri Lanka, she would particularly enjoy connecting with a female volunteer from a Sri Lankan, Indian or Nepalese background. She prefers to communicate in English and is Christian.
Living in a memory support environment and experiencing cognitive decline, she can feel socially isolated and would greatly benefit from regular one-on-one conversation and companionship with someone who can engage with her at her level and help her feel connected.
She particularly enjoys music and loves singing along to songs. Spending time talking and listening to music together would provide valuable social connection and companionship.
No volunteer visitor experience in aged care is required. We are looking for someone who is patient, kind and would value the opportunity to build a genuine connection and make a difference in the life of an older person experiencing loneliness.
Visits are generally around one hour each fortnight, with timing arranged to suit both the volunteer and your new older friend.
If you are a woman from a Sri Lankan, Indian or Nepalese background and would like to make a meaningful difference through regular conversation and companionship, we would love to hear from you.
