Emerald Museum: Collections Assistant Volunteer

Key Activities:
- Cataloguing museum records on our collection management system, Victorian Collections.
- Conducting research into artefacts, objects and historical records.
- Handling, photographing and storing objects according to best practice standards.
- Ensuring the collection storage facilities are organised and tidy.
- Adhering to the National Standards for Australian Museums and Galleries, as well as Australian copyright law.
- Complying with all occupational health and safety practices and procedures at the Museum.
About You:
- An appreciation of history, cultural heritage, or the arts.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Good understanding of computer systems and technology.
- A valid Volunteer Working With Children Check, or ability to obtain one.
- The capacity to commit to 1-2 days per week for a minimum of 6 months.
