As an Activity Support Volunteer, you will help bring fun, creativity and connection into the lives of residents in our aged care home. Working alongside our team, you will support activities that give residents opportunities to socialise, enjoy their interests, try something different and simply have a good time. The best part is that you can get involved in ways that feel natural and enjoyable to you. Love music? Share a favourite song or play an instrument. Creative at heart? Join residents for arts and crafts. Prefer a bit of friendly competition? Cards, bingo, quizzes and board games might be more your style.

Main Tasks:

  • Build meaningful connections with older people through friendly interactions

  • Support older people to participate in group and individual activities

  • Encourage engagement, confidence and social connection

  • Assist staff is setting up, running and packing up activities

  • You can choose how you would like to contribute and what feels most natural and enjoyable for you. Some options include reading a book, singing, getting creative with arts & crafts, playing cards, bingo or board games, playing musical instrument or simply listening to music together. If you have a special skill or passion you would like to share - we are always open to new ideas.
