Volunteer Visitor – Great Conversation & Current Affairs in Taylor

Ageing with Grace

Do you enjoy a good conversation, keeping up with current affairs and sharing stories over a cuppa?

Ageing with Grace is looking for a friendly volunteer to spend some regular one-to-one time with a gentleman in his mid-70s who lives independently in his own home in Taylor.

He is a great chatter who enjoys open discussions and sharing conversation with others. He has had an interesting working life, including driving taxis and working on the railways, and his interests include photography, cross stitch and ballroom dancing. He also loves dogs and has an interest in his electric trike.

He uses a walking stick or walking frame but enjoys getting out when he can. Visits might involve having a good chat at home, heading out for a coffee or enjoying an occasional outing together.

A regular visit can make a meaningful difference to an older person experiencing social isolation and disconnection, while giving you the opportunity to build a genuine friendship along the way.

If you enjoy conversation, have an open mind and could spare around an hour regularly, we would love to hear from you.

Ageing with Grace participates in the Australian Government-funded Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS), connecting volunteers with older people who would benefit from friendship and companionship.
