Volunteer Journey Cafe Assistant

Love the buzz of a cafe and enjoy connecting with people?

RangeCare is looking for friendly and enthusiastic volunteers to join us at Journey Cafe, held every Thursday at Maleny RSL.

Journey Cafe is a collaboration between RangeCare and Maleny RSL, providing a relaxed cafe setting where people can meet others, build connections, enjoy coffee and conversation, and access information about aged care.

Fresh morning tea is available for purchase, and we're looking for volunteers who are happy to roll up their sleeves and help us create a warm, welcoming and enjoyable cafe experience each Thursday.

It's a busy morning, so bring your running shoes and a happy disposition!

Key Duties

Depending on your interests, skills and experience, you may assist with:

• Setting up and packing down the cafe
• Welcoming people as they arrive
• Taking orders and serving
• Preparing and serving drinks
• Assisting with coffee making
• Clearing tables
• Light dishwashing duties
• Keeping the cafe area tidy and welcoming
• Pitching in wherever an extra pair of hands is needed

Skills and Experience

You don't need to be a hospitality professional to join us.

Previous cafe, hospitality, customer service or barista experience would be highly regarded, but is certainly not essential.

We're looking for volunteers who are:

• Friendly and approachable
• Reliable
• Comfortable in a busy environment
• Happy working as part of a team
• Willing to have a go and help where needed
• Someone who enjoys meeting and talking with people
