Administration Officer – Special Olympics Committee
Advertised by Volunteering WA
Special Olympics Australia is part of a global movement using sport to create greater inclusion for people with intellectual disability and/or autism. From grassroots weekly programs through to State, National and World Games, our volunteers help create opportunities for athletes to play, compete and thrive. We are looking for an organised and reliable Administration Officer to support one of our volunteer Committees.
This is an important behind-the-scenes role that helps the Committee operate smoothly, maintain good governance and keep people informed. You’ll work collaboratively with Committee members and Special Olympics staff to support effective planning, communication and delivery.
What you’ll do You will prepare meeting agendas, minutes and papers; coordinate meeting schedules and notices; maintain Committee correspondence, records and registers; track actions arising from meetings; and help ensure documents are stored appropriately in approved systems. You will also support clear information-sharing and positive working relationships across the Committee.
About you You don’t need to be a governance expert. We’re looking for someone who is organised, communicates clearly and is comfortable using digital tools for communication and document management. Administration experience may come from employment, study, a sporting club, community organisation or another volunteer role. Experience preparing minutes, supporting meetings or working with shared digital workspaces would be helpful but is not essential. You’ll be someone who enjoys helping things run well, can follow through on actions and records, and is comfortable working collaboratively with volunteers, athletes, families and staff.
Why volunteer with Special Olympics? This role is an opportunity to use practical administration skills to make a meaningful contribution to inclusive sport. Strong administration helps our volunteers spend more time creating quality opportunities for athletes and ensures Committee decisions, actions and information are properly recorded and followed through. You’ll become part of a welcoming national movement and receive the induction and training required to help you feel confident in the role.
