Girl Guides Queensland is looking for enthusiastic adults to join as unit Leaders and helpers. You do not need previous Guiding experience! We provide training, practical resources and support from experienced volunteers to help you grow into the role.

About This Opportunity

As a Volunteer Leader with Girl Guides Queensland, you’ll help create and deliver fun, engaging and age-appropriate activities that inspire girls to learn, grow and thrive in a safe and supportive environment.

You’ll become part of a local Girl Guide Unit, working alongside a passionate team of volunteers to build confidence, leadership, resilience and friendships in girls aged 5 to 17. No previous experience is required. Comprehensive training, resources and ongoing support are provided to help you succeed.

By joining Girl Guides, you’ll be part of a worldwide movement of more than 10 million girls and women, making a positive difference in the lives of young people while developing your own skills, friendships and leadership experience.

What you will do
• Help plan and deliver fun, age-appropriate weekly activities during school terms.
• Encourage girls to develop confidence, leadership, teamwork and practical life skills.
• Support a welcoming, inclusive and safe environment for all participants.
• Work collaboratively with other volunteer Leaders
• Have the option to take part in camps, weekend activities and outdoor adventures.

What we are looking for
• A positive, reliable and encouraging approach.
• An interest in supporting girls and young women in your community to reach their potential.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• A willingness to learn and complete the required training and screening.
• Availability for regular weekly meetings during school terms.
