St Vincent De Paul Society Queensland supported by Volunteering Queensland

About Vinnies Buddies Day Program: Vinnies Buddies Day is a volunteer-led community program that provides fun, friendship, and connection for children aged 8–12. Each month, we run activities that help children develop confidence, build friendships, and feel a strong sense of belonging.
Role Description: We are seeking a qualified Bronze Medallion holder or swimming instructor to join our team for a one-off pool excursion. While lifeguards will be present at the venue, we require a swim-certified volunteer within our team to assist with water safety supervision and support our risk management plan, as our regular swim-certified leader will be on holiday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with supervising swimming and water-based activities, ensuring children’s safety and inclusion.
- Support the planning and running of fun, inclusive activities throughout the day.
- Be a positive role model and encourage confidence, connection, and friendship among children.
Requirements:
- Hold a valid Bronze Medallion or equivalent swimming qualification.
- Comfortable supervising children in a pool environment.
- Aged 16–35 years.
- Complete Vinnies volunteer onboarding: induction, Code of Conduct, Working with Children Check (Blue Card if over 18) and National Police Certificate.
- Enthusiastic, reliable, and committed to child-centered volunteering.
