About the organization - We at MYND Initiative Incorporated believe that mental health matters to everyone and that everyone has their own story to tell. Our mission is to remove the stigma associated with mental illness, help people to develop good mental health hygiene, develop skills to cope in a mental health crisis and to feel comfortable talking about their own mental health. In doing this we hope to develop communities of understanding who are able to listen to and support those struggling with mental health issues as well as enabling those communities to develop individualized mental health awareness programs.

About the role

Overview

The Social Media Officer will act as the everyday voice and online presence of MYND Initiative. They will help support MYND Initiative's vision by creating and sharing engaging content, promoting MYND's activities and helping connect with our online community.

This is a collaborative role where you can contribute ideas, develop your skills and help share MYND's message about mental health with a wider audience.

You don't need to be a social media expert. We are looking for someone who is interested in social media, enjoys creating content and would like to contribute to MYND's work.

Key Responsibilities:

Content and Social Media

  • Create and schedule engaging social media content in line with MYND's general marketing and brand guidelines.
  • Develop creative written content, captions and graphics, and promote MYND's programs, workshops, events and activities.
  • Contribute ideas for new and engaging content.

Community and Marketing

  • Help maintain MYND's welcoming and supportive online presence.
  • Monitor comments and messages and escalate questions or sensitive matters where appropriate.
  • Work with the Marketing team to support campaigns & events and help MYND reach new audiences.

Learning and Improvement

  • Keep an eye on social media engagement and basic performance insights.
  • Share ideas with the Marketing team about what content is working well and what could be improved.

About you

We're looking for someone who is interested and has experience in social media, enjoys creating content and would like to contribute to MYND's work.

  • Experience using social media platforms.
  • An interest in writing, creating graphics or other digital content.
  • Familiarity with social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook.
  • Some experience with Canva, or a willingness to learn.
  • An interest in marketing, communications or helping organisations reach new audiences.
  • An ability to work collaboratively and manage agreed tasks independently.

Experience is welcome, but enthusiasm and a willingness to learn are just as important.
