Pimpama Island & Districts Community Centre Ass.Inc supported by Volunteering Queensland

Set 'In the Canefields' in what was once Pimpama Island, the hall (Community Centre) is a historic building, built by locals in 1917 as a meeting place and dance hall to service the community.
We could use the assistance of dedicated Handy people, who might be able to help maintenance and the day to day tasks that support our historic hall. This opportunity could suit both regular volunteers and those willing to help out on an as needs basis. Some tasks involve help with events and promotions, including set up, styling, etc.
For those seeking regular volunteering who want to join our team, we work primarily Mondays, Tuesdays and sometimes Fridays, depending on the needs of the events at the hall. We are centrelink registered for anyone requiring specific hours..
We are passionate about the history of our building and about having it sustain its existence and thus preserving it for use by generations to come. We are a group where if something needs doing we all tend to get in and do it.
