The Boroondara Volunteer Resource Centre is advertising this opportunity on behalf of Doncare.

Doncare is looking for volunteers to become Manningham Elder Abuse Community Champions (MEACCs) as part of our innovative Champions for Seniors program.

MEACCs are trained community volunteers who are matched with an older person and provide a regular, trusted connection. By meeting once or twice a fortnight, you’ll have the opportunity to listen, build a meaningful relationship and help an older person feel heard, respected, connected and more confident in their choices.

Becoming a MEACC is an opportunity to:

  • Be part of an innovative community program supporting the rights and wellbeing of older people
  • Receive training and support to build your knowledge and confidence
  • Build a meaningful connection with an older person in your community
  • Meet other like-minded people who care about their community
  • Use your skills and life experience in a role with genuine purpose
  • Know that your time can make a real and personal difference.

You don’t need to be an expert. We’re looking for people who are compassionate, respectful, good listeners and passionate about ensuring older people have a voice.

Ready to be part of something meaningful? Become a Champion for Seniors.

Express interest, complete a short registration and we will contact you.

Champions for Seniors is funded through a Manningham Council Community Partnership Grant and delivered by Doncare with support from Eastern Community Legal Centre.
