Do you have ideas for making your community a better place to live?

Imagine a community where children can travel safely, older people can remain independent, and everyone has the freedom to get around and participate in everyday life whether they drive or not. That's what we're working towards at Get Around Caboolture.

We're a local, volunteer-run, not-for-profit organisation working to improve transport choice in Caboolture and Morayfield.

For many people, getting to the shops, visiting friends, attending appointments or enjoying community activities can be difficult. While people who drive may wish to ride a bike to get exercise.

Better buses, safer crossings, continuous footpaths and more welcoming streets can make an enormous difference.

We'd love more local people to get involved

We're fortunate to work with transport professionals, researchers and university students from across Australia. Now we're particularly keen to connect with people who live in Caboolture, Morayfield and surrounding communities.

You know your neighbourhood. You may have noticed things that could work better, have ideas worth exploring or simply enjoy helping make life easier for others.

There are all sorts of ways you could contribute, including:

  • Observing how people use local streets and public spaces
  • Talking with residents and gathering their experiences
  • Taking photographs or researching local transport issues
  • Writing, designing or helping with communications
  • Organising community activities or developing new project ideas

Perhaps you have skills or experience you'd like to share. Perhaps you'd enjoy developing new ones.

We're interested in hearing your ideas and exploring how your interests and abilities could contribute to our work.

How we work

Get Around Caboolture is run entirely by volunteers, and we all work from home. We collaborate online and are happy to meet at a local café, library or online.

We're looking for people who are self-motivated, enjoy taking initiative and are comfortable working independently.

You'll need to be able to organise your own time, communicate with the team and follow through on agreed commitments.

There's flexibility around how much time you contribute, depending on your availability and the projects you're involved in.

Who can get involved?

We welcome people of different ages, backgrounds and experiences, particularly those living locally.

You might be studying, working, retired, developing new skills or simply looking for a meaningful way to contribute to your community.

Your local knowledge, curiosity and willingness to work with others are all valuable.

Interested? We'd love to hear from you!

When submitting your expression of interest, please answer these questions in the comments box:

  1. What interests you about getting involved with Get Around Caboolture?
  2. What skills, interests or ideas would you like to contribute or develop?

Please make sure you answer the questions in the comments box. We receive a high number of spam applications, so your responses help us identify genuine applicants. Applications without answers may not be considered.

Whether you've lived here for years or recently moved to the area, we'd love to hear what you'd like to see change and how you might enjoy contributing.

Together, we can help create a community where more people can get around safely, connect with others and enjoy everything our neighbourhoods have to offer.
