Volunteer Opportunity – Supporting Older People | South West Sydney

Would you like to make a positive difference in the life of an older person?
We are seeking friendly, caring and compassionate volunteers who are interested in supporting older people in the South West Sydney community. There are different ways to get involved, depending on your interests, availability and the type of connection you would like to make.
Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS)
Become a regular visitor and build a meaningful friendship with an older person who may be experiencing loneliness or social isolation. This could involve visiting an older person in their home or aged care home, sharing a conversation, enjoying a cup of tea or simply spending quality time together.
Visits are generally arranged on a regular basis, such as weekly or fortnightly, allowing you to develop a familiar and ongoing connection.
Friendship Circles
Do you enjoy bringing people together and creating a welcoming environment? Friendship Circles offer an opportunity to help facilitate group activities and social gatherings where older people can connect, share experiences and build friendships.
As a volunteer, you may help welcome participants, encourage conversations, support group activities and contribute to creating an inclusive and enjoyable atmosphere.
Make a Difference Through Volunteering
Whether you prefer one-on-one visits or helping bring people together through group activities, your time and involvement can help older people feel valued, connected and supported in their community.
If you are interested in volunteering and would like to learn more about these opportunities, we would love to hear from you!
Register your interest today and help make a meaningful difference in the life of an older person.
