Organisational background
Sydney Cricket Club, known as the Tigers, provides men’s and women’s Premier Cricket, youth development and junior pathways. We bring together players, families, supporters and local partners through cricket and community activities in the Inner West and beyond.
Volunteers are essential to delivering these opportunities. Our values of commitment, teamwork and selflessness underpin how we operate, support our players and improve the experience at our home grounds.
Benefits of volunteering with Sydney Cricket Club
- Become part of a welcoming cricket community and build relationships with players, members, officials and fellow volunteers.
- Become part of the Tiger Troop, Sydney Cricket Club's group of volunteers.
- Use and develop skills in organisation, leadership, volunteer coordination and sports operations.
- Enjoy an active role in local cricket without needing to be a player.
- Working with the Operations Manager and club volunteers and seeing the results of your contribution every match day.
The impact you will have
You will help to create a safe, welcoming and well-organised match-day environment for players, officials, visiting teams and supporters. Your contribution will allow players to concentrate on their cricket and match preparations while reducing the workload on captains and the small group of volunteers currently managing essential tasks.
By caring for equipment, coordinating facilities and resolving practical issues, you will help the club make the most of its limited resources, maintain its reputation for hospitality and support the continued delivery of cricket at Birchgrove Oval.
