Graphic Design Volunteer – Help Tell Our Story (Online)

A single image can stop someone scrolling. It can be the reason a stranger donates a cot, sponsors a room or decides to volunteer. At Tanya's Home, those moments add up to mums getting the support they need to bring their children home.
Whether you're a professional designer, a design student building your portfolio, or someone who just loves making things look beautiful in Canva, we'd love to have you. You'll have your own Claude AI account to help with ideas, copy and briefs, so you can focus on the creative side. It's all online, so you can design from anywhere.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Designing social media graphics for Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn
- Creating flyers, posters and simple printed materials
- Helping with visuals for our Christmas appeal, Sponsor a Room and the opening of our first home
- Building Canva templates so our look stays consistent
- Working from our brand guidelines. Our logo is never altered and always sits on a white background
What You'll Gain:
- Real, published work for your portfolio, including major campaigns
- Your own Claude AI account to support your work
- Creative input into a growing charity's look and feel
- Experience working to briefs and with feedback, just like in the industry
- Seeing your designs help keep families together
Who We'd Love to Hear From:
- Design students and recent graduates building a portfolio
- Professional designers who want to give back
- Hobbyists who are handy with Canva and keen to learn more
- Anyone with a creative eye and a warm heart
Give What You Can:
There's no minimum time commitment. Whether you can give an hour here and there or a few hours a week, there's a place for you. Our volunteers work as a team and share the load, so every bit of time makes a difference.
About Tanya's Home:
Tanya's Home Limited is a Victorian charity founded from lived experience. We support mothers affected by addiction, family violence and other complex circumstances who are involved with Child Protection, and help them keep or reunify with their children. Our support includes advocacy, Children's Court support, treatment and rehabilitation pathways, peer support, transport and emergency essentials. We hold DGR and PBI status and are preparing to open our first supported home for mothers. We're small, growing and full of heart, and our volunteers are a real part of the team.
Your Impact:
Your designs will help us raise the money and find the people who make a real difference: a lift to court, a safe bed, a mum who doesn't have to face it all alone. We always protect the privacy of the mums and children we support, so you'll never be asked to use identifying images.
How to Apply:
Apply through SEEK Volunteer, or contact Georgina at [email protected] or on 0437 710 663. Please include a few examples of your work, whatever your level. Not sure if you're the right fit? Apply anyway. We'd love to hear from you.
We're recruiting for several roles at the moment and some overlap, so take a look at our other Tanya's Home opportunities on SEEK Volunteer too. If more than one appeals to you, let us know when you apply.
