Do you enjoy a friendly chat, gardening and spending time with older people?

Ageing with Grace is looking for a kind, patient female volunteer to provide regular companionship to an older lady living in her own home in Kambah.

She enjoys gardening, conversation and occasionally going out for a coffee or lunch. Originally from Germany, she has a strong German accent, so someone who is patient and comfortable taking their time with conversation would be ideal. A volunteer who speaks German would be particularly welcome, although this is not essential.

She is experiencing some memory loss and would benefit from a patient, understanding volunteer who is happy to spend time getting to know her at her own pace.

Visits might simply involve sharing a cuppa and a chat, talking about her garden or enjoying some quiet companionship.

We are looking for someone who is friendly, patient, reliable and able to offer regular, consistent visits. Previous volunteer experience in aged care is not essential, although an understanding of the needs of older people would be beneficial.

Ageing with Grace participates in the Australian Government-funded Aged Care Volunteer Visitors Scheme (ACVVS), connecting volunteers with older people experiencing social isolation and disconnection.

If you have a little time to share and would enjoy building a genuine friendship with an older person who would value your company, we'd love to hear from you.
