Marine Rescue Carnarvon

#Support the Mission, Stay Shore-Based

Not everyone wants to head out to sea, but that doesn't mean you can't play an important role in supporting Marine Rescue. Our Volunteer All-Rounders help keep our rescue service operating smoothly by assisting with a variety of practical tasks that support our vessels, crew, and operations. Marine Rescue relies on volunteers in both operational and non-operational roles, and every contribution helps us continue providing a vital service to the local community.

About the Role

As a Volunteer All-Rounder, you will provide general support to the Marine Rescue team through a range of activities, including:

  • Cleaning and caring for rescue vessels.
  • Assisting with the upkeep of facilities and equipment.
  • Helping prepare vessels and gear for training and operational use.
  • Assisting with fundraising, community events, and promotional activities.
  • Supporting crew members with ad hoc tasks as required.
  • Helping maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for volunteers and visitors.
  • Providing general support that contributes to the effectiveness of the Marine Rescue service.

Who We're Looking For

This role is ideal for someone who:

  • Wants to give back to the community.
  • Enjoys practical, hands-on tasks.
  • Has limited spare time and needs a flexible volunteer commitment.
  • Wants to support Marine Rescue but does not wish to participate in sea-going activities.
  • Prefers occasional volunteering rather than regular rostered shifts.

Knowledge of boats or the marine environment is a bonus, but it is not essential. We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds and will provide guidance and support to help you get involved.

Time Commitment

This is a flexible volunteer role that can often fit around work, family, and other commitments. Opportunities are available to assist as your schedule allows, making it suitable for people who want to contribute without committing to operational duties or regular training requirements.

Benefits of Volunteering

  • Contribute to a service that helps keep local boaters safe.
  • Become part of a supportive and respected community organisation.
  • Meet new people and build community connections.
  • Learn more about Marine Rescue operations and the local maritime community.
  • Gain satisfaction from supporting an organisation that saves lives and assists mariners in need.

You don't need any special experience to make a difference. If you'd like to support a local organisation that helps save lives on the water, we'd love to welcome you to the team.
