Volunteer Visitor – Share a Conversation & Brighten Someone's Day – Monash

Ageing with Grace

Logo for Ageing with Grace

Ageing with Grace is looking for a friendly, reliable male volunteer to spend approximately one hour each week with an older gentleman living in a retirement village in Monash.

Originally from England, he has called Canberra home for many decades and has plenty of stories to share, including his 30-year career at the Royal Australian Mint.

He's a keen sports enthusiast, particularly enjoying horse racing, rugby league and English soccer. He also loves music and previously enjoyed singing in a local choir.

We're hoping to find someone who shares some of these interests and would enjoy spending time chatting about sport, music, current events or simply sharing stories over a cuppa.

With limited opportunities to get out and about, regular visits would provide much-valued companionship and something to look forward to each week.

If you have approximately one hour to spare each week, we'd love to hear from you. Visiting times are flexible, with the following days preferred:

  • Wednesdays or Fridays
  • Monday or Thursday afternoons after lunch may also be suitable

You don't need any special skills or experience – just a friendly nature, good listening skills and a genuine interest in building a meaningful friendship.

Ageing with Grace provides training, ongoing guidance and support.

If you have an hour a week to spare and enjoy sport, music and good conversation, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply today to become an Aged Care Volunteer Visitor with Ageing with Grace.
