Creative Team Leader – Social Media & Graphic Design (Volunteer) Remote

About us
Lifestyle Markets Australia Inc. (LMA) is a registered charity and not-for-profit organisation. We bring communities together through family-focused fundraisers, markets and events across Victoria. All proceeds support Kinds of Happiness (KOH), a charity that empowers disadvantaged youth in regional and rural Australia through mentoring, farming programs and skills development. Our volunteers are at the heart of everything we do.
About the role
We are looking for a creative, organised person to lead our Social Media Graphic Design (SMGD) team. You will report to our Senior Marketing Team Leader and work closely with our Event Organisers to make sure every market, festival and fundraiser is promoted well. You will guide a group of volunteer designers, many of whom are still building their experience. You will also give them creative direction and keep the design workflow running smoothly, so our graphics are engaging, on brand and delivered on time.
What you will be doing
- Leading, guiding and supporting a team of volunteer designers with clear direction and constructive feedback
- Working closely with our Event Organisers to plan and create promotional graphics for upcoming events
- Providing creative direction for social media posts, event promotions and campaigns
- Coordinating design requests, timelines and progress
- Maintaining the post calendar with the Senior Marketing Team Leader and Content Writing team
- Reviewing graphics before they are published and looking after our brand guidelines
- Creating graphics yourself for priority campaigns and events
- Welcoming and onboarding new designers
About you
- Confident in Canva, with a strong eye for typography, colour, layout and branding
- Experience designing content for social media
- Experience leading, mentoring or coordinating others, whether in a paid, volunteer or study setting
- Well organised and able to manage several projects and deadlines
- A clear, supportive communicator who is comfortable giving feedback
- Able to work well within a remote volunteer team
- Comfortable using Google Workspace and Microsoft Office
It would be great if you also have experience with Adobe Creative Cloud, brand guidelines, social media scheduling tools, or volunteering in a not-for-profit.
What we offer
- A welcoming, inclusive and diverse volunteer community
- Meaningful work that directly supports young people in regional Australia
- Flexible, fully remote volunteering of about 5 hours a week
- Valuable leadership experience and the chance to shape LMA’s creative direction
- Opportunities to build new skills and grow your professional network
If this sounds like you, we would love to hear from you.
