About Us

At Activate Mental Health (“AMH”), we operate on the belief that #itsmorefuntogether. Founded by Chartered Accountant Rahul Seth CA, AMH has grown into Perth’s largest community-driven mental well-being support network and a prominent organisation in the local mental health sector.

Over its ten-year journey, this initiative evolved from a local grassroots concept into a flourishing charity serving a community of more than 9,000 members. A team of more than 50 volunteers runs approximately 400 events each year to support people's mental well-being in safe, fun and inclusive spaces.

The role

Our Board is seeking an experienced volunteer to assist in reviewing, refining, and strengthening Activate Mental Health's governance framework.

As a growing charity, we are committed to maintaining good governance practices and compliance with Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC) expectations. We have recently developed a governance manual and identified several key policies that require review, enhancement, and alignment with current best practice:

  • Code of Conduct (already completed)
  • Conflict of Interest Policy
  • Volunteer Management Policy
  • Financial Control Policy
  • Privacy Policy

In addition, we have these policies in place.

  • Developing policies and procedures

  • Governance

  • Financial controls

  • Volunteer management

  • Access and equity

  • Review existing policies and procedures.

  • Recommend improvements based on governance best practice.
