Help shape the future of an award-winning community sporting club!

Ellenbrook Vipers Rugby Union Club is seeking an experienced, organised and community-minded Volunteer Treasurer to join our Executive Committee.

This is more than a bookkeeping role. We're looking for someone who can confidently manage our finances, contribute to club decisions and help build a strong, sustainable future for our rugby community.

About the Vipers

We're more than just a rugby club. We're a community.

Based at Woodlake Sports Ground in Ellenbrook, we're a family-focused, volunteer-run club committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for children, families and the wider community.

We're proud to have been recognised as:

  • 2024 SportWest Community Club of the Year
  • 2025 Healthway Champions of Rugby – Healthy Club of the Year

In 2026, we welcomed approximately 160 registered players across eight junior competition teams, alongside Little Rugby, Walla Rugby and Social Seniors. We also launched our first U13 Girls team.

As we look to 2027, we're expanding opportunities for girls and women, strengthening junior pathways, building partnerships and developing more year-round programs.

About the Role

As Treasurer, you'll be responsible for the club's financial administration and reporting, while contributing to broader Executive Committee planning, governance and decision-making.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining accurate financial records and managing accounts in Xero.
  • Recording income and expenditure, processing invoices, payments and reimbursements, and completing bank reconciliations.
  • Preparing and presenting financial reports at monthly committee meetings.
  • Supporting budgeting, cash-flow monitoring and financial planning.
  • Maintaining sound financial controls and preparing AGM financial reports and other required reporting.
  • Working with our Grants Team to track funding and expenditure, maintain supporting records and assist with grant acquittals.
  • Providing financial guidance for fundraising, sponsorships, events and new club initiatives.
  • Attending monthly committee meetings and actively contributing to Executive Committee discussions and decisions on club matters, not just finances.

About You

Essential requirements:

  • Proficiency in Xero, including financial transactions, reconciliations and reporting.
  • Confidence using Google Drive and Gmail.
  • Experience in bookkeeping, accounting, financial administration or financial management.
  • Strong organisational skills, attention to detail and an understanding of budgeting and financial accountability.
  • Integrity, discretion and the ability to communicate clearly and work collaboratively.
  • Working with childrens check & national police clearance will be required
  • Availability for monthly committee meetings and willingness to take an active role in Executive Committee decisions.

Experience in community sport or not-for-profit governance is welcome but not essential.

You don't need to know rugby to make a difference!

Time & Support

Allow approximately 2–4 hours per week, with some additional time during peak season, grant reporting and annual financial reporting.

Monthly meetings are generally held in the evening, and most financial administration can be done remotely.

A handover and club-specific induction will be provided; prior Xero experience is required.

Nominations & AGM Information

The Volunteer Treasurer position will be filled as part of the Ellenbrook Vipers Rugby Union Club's upcoming Annual General Meeting (AGM).

Nominations close at midnight on Sunday, 8 November 2026 (AWST).

Our AGM will be held on:
