Would you like to make a practical difference in your community and become part of something meaningful?
Lions brings local people together to serve their communities, build friendships and make a difference where help is needed.
Lions clubs across District 201N2 serve communities across parts of New South Wales and the ACT.
Every Lions club is different because every community is different.
Some clubs focus strongly on local fundraising. Others support health initiatives, youth, families, emergency relief, community events, practical assistance, environmental projects or other local needs.
What they have in common is simple:
local people helping local people.
What does Lions membership involve?
Being a Lion can give you opportunities to:
• help your local community
• meet people and build friendships
• contribute your skills and experience
• take part in meaningful service
• learn new skills
• develop leadership experience if that interests you
• become involved in local, national and international Lions initiatives
You do not need previous volunteering experience.
You do not need to know another Lion.
You do not need to be retired.
You do not need to commit every spare moment you have.
Find a Lions club that suits you
Lions clubs vary in size, activities, meeting styles and community priorities.
When you express interest, Lions District 201N2 will aim to connect you with a suitable club close to where you live.
You can meet local Lions, learn about their activities and decide whether the club feels right for you.
If there is more than one Lions club near you, we may discuss the available options with you.
Experience Lions before deciding
There is no need to make a membership decision before meeting anyone.
You may be invited to:
• help at a service activity
• attend a social activity
• meet a few Lions over coffee
• have an informal conversation with a local club
• attend an upcoming club activity
We believe the best way to understand Lions is to experience it.
Who can become a Lion?
Lions membership includes people from many backgrounds, professions, ages and life experiences.
What matters most is a desire to contribute positively to the community.
If you have been looking for a way to give something back, meet local people or become involved in meaningful community service, we would be pleased to hear from you.
Service First. Where there’s a need, there’s a Lion.
Express your interest through SEEK Volunteer and we will help connect you with Lions in your community.
