Your skills could make a real difference in your community.

Lions clubs do much more than fundraising and community events.

Behind every successful service project are people who organise, communicate, plan, solve problems, take photographs, manage finances, coordinate events, design materials, work with people and help ideas become reality.

Lions District 201N2 is looking for people who may be interested in contributing their skills to local community service.

You can start by helping with a project or activity and see whether Lions is right for you.

What could you contribute?

Depending on your interests and the needs of a local Lions club, your skills might help with:

• administration and organisation
• social media and communications
• photography and video
• event planning
• fundraising
• bookkeeping or finance
• marketing
• community engagement
• project coordination
• technology
• writing and editing
• trades or practical skills
• professional experience
• leadership and mentoring
• research or planning

You do not need to fit one particular category.

Sometimes the most valuable question is simply:

What are you good at, and how could that help your community?

You do not need to take on a committee position

Helping Lions does not automatically mean becoming an office bearer or committing to a year long role.

You may prefer to:

• help with one project
• contribute a skill occasionally
• assist behind the scenes
• help with communications
• support an event
• solve a particular problem
• mentor another volunteer
• share professional knowledge

How you contribute can depend on your interests and availability.

Start by helping

You do not need to become a Lions member before you participate.

We can aim to connect you with a Lions club close to you so you can meet local Lions and learn about what they do.

If you enjoy the experience and would like to become more involved, we would also be pleased to talk with you about Lions membership.

Membership can provide opportunities for service, friendship, leadership and ongoing community involvement.

Working full time?

That is not a problem.

Many people want to contribute to their community but cannot attend every meeting or activity.

Your contribution may be a few hours, a particular skill or occasional involvement when your availability allows.

Different Lions clubs operate differently, and we will aim to find a connection that makes sense for you.

No previous Lions experience needed

You do not need to know how Lions works before you start.

Local Lions can explain the activity and provide any guidance you need.

Bring your experience, ideas and willingness to help.

We will help with the Lions part.

Service First. Where there’s a need, there’s a Lion.

Express your interest through SEEK Volunteer and tell us a little about the skills or experience you would enjoy contributing.
