Our gardens are a place where residents can relax, connect and enjoy the outdoors. Our volunteer Gardening Helpers help keep these spaces looking their best while building friendly connections with the people who live here. In this role you will assist staff and residents with light gardening tasks at Bethanie Peel or Bethanie Bert England Lodge in Cooloongup. You’ll be treated as a valued member of the Bethanie team, and your time will make a real difference to residents’ wellbeing.

Key tasks include:

Light weeding and pruning. Watering plants and garden beds. Planting flowers and herbs. General garden maintenance to keep outdoor areas tidy, calming and welcoming. Chatting with residents as you work, and inviting them to join in where they’d like to.

Who we are looking for:

Friendly, caring people with a passion for gardening who enjoy socialising with others. Volunteers who are physically fit and enjoy working outdoors in the fresh air and sunshine. People who share a passion for enriching the lives of older people. No formal gardening qualifications required, just enthusiasm and a willingness to help.
