Volunteer Shopper
Would you like to make a practical difference in someone's life while helping them stay independent and connected to their community?
St John Tasmania Community Care supports older and socially isolated Tasmanians to continue living independently in their own homes.
As a Volunteer Shopper, you'll provide practical help with everyday shopping while also offering something just as valuable: friendly conversation, companionship and connection.
What you'll do
Depending on the needs of the person you're supporting, you may:
- Assist them with their grocery shopping
- Shop on their behalf when they're unable to do so themselves
- Provide friendly companionship and conversation
- Help them get out and about in their community
- Enjoy a coffee or social outing together
Make a difference
For someone who lives alone or finds it difficult to get out, a regular shopping trip or friendly conversation can make a real difference.
This is a rewarding opportunity to provide practical support, build genuine connections and help someone remain independent, connected and engaged with their community.
