Tour guides and Historical Society Members

This volunteer role supports The Historical Society as custodians and guides of the Azelia Ley Homestead Museum and Wagon house Museum.
Volunteer guides are on roster for Sunday opening 1.30-4.30 pm and supervising the Museums for booked tours and school excursions, as they occur (Mon-Wed).
Volunteers are also involved in supporting City of Cockburn events; High Tea, Spring Fair and various ongoing projects such as archaeology of Davila’s Ruins and maintaining Wagonhouse displays.
Volunteers are able to involve themselves in their specific interests, as part of this active group, and be willing to help maintain the Museums. A genuine interest in local history. Membership of The Historical Society of Cockburn ($5.00) is required to be a volunteer; this helps the volunteer gain knowledge of the Museum and service provided for visitors.
About The Historical Society of Cockburn
The Historical Society of Cockburn is the City of Cockburn’s designated Custodian and Curator of Azelia Ley Homestead Museum, Wagon house Museum, Outbuildings, and Davilak Ruins all situated in the beautiful Manning Park, Spearwood. The Society hosts adhoc events throughout the year, as well as opening the Museum every Sunday from 1-4pm as well as conducting tours on a regular basis.
