Volunteer Support Librarian - Esperance Toy Library
Advertised by Esperance Volunteer Resource CentreThe Esperance Toy Library is seeking a friendly and enthusiastic volunteer to join our team in a crucial support role. This is a supportive position, and a Lead Librarian will be present at all times to lead operations and assist you in all tasks.
Our mission is to help bring smiles to the little people in our community, and you will be a vital part of making that happen! We open Saturday mornings 9:30am - 11:00am during the school term, and you can choose when and how many shifts you sign up for each term!
Primary Tasks
• Shift Opening & Set-up Support: Assist the Lead Librarian in preparing the library for opening, including setting up the library ready for members and getting the flags out.
• Member & New Member Assistance: Be the first friendly face to greet members and new members with a smile. Actively help them find toys of interest and assist members in finding and carrying large toys. (Note: the Lead Librarian will be present to help manage member enquiries and sign-ups.)
• Toy Checking & Maintenance Support: Help with toy checking processes to ensure they are clean and in good working order. This includes giving the toys a clean and disinfect after return and helping with general organisation and tidying of the library throughout the shift. Participate in counting the pieces of toys for system accuracy. (Note: this is a collaborative checking process; a Lead Librarian will assist with final audits and resolutions, ensuring you are not solely accountable for system accuracy.)
• Online Booking Support: Assist in scanning toys in and out and counting the pieces (counting to ensure the system is accurate, a collaborative effort with the Lead). Using our online booking system via iPad (Full training provided!).
