This busy nursery environment welcomes new Volunteers to assist in a variety of nursery tasks. The Community Nursery offers a beautiful and professional outdoor workplace with friendly and motivated people to connect with!!
The Community Nursery is open for Volunteers on Wednesday and Thursday from 8am to 12 noon. Morning tea will be provided at 10am!
The Community Nursery has always been driven by Volunteers and your contribution has a direct impact to improve the City’s environment by planting more trees.
Suitable volunteers will need to follow:
- propagation instructions;
- comply with safety procedures; and,
- report any potential hazards to the nursery manager.
Many and varied tasks are available, depending on the time of season. Duties include:
- potting on seedlings;
- pruning larger seedlings; and,
- propagating and working with many different plant species.
Standing and bending and some heavy lifting is required in this job.
Wearing appropriate PPE is essential, and as well as the ability to learn and retain new skills.
