Volunteer to support young people with disabilities – Mentors / Buddy Programs

Interchange Network

Logo for Interchange Network

The Interchange Network of disability service providers connects volunteers with people living with disability to support their social and recreational participation in the local community.

If you have a particular interest or hobby, we connect you with someone with the same interests, so you can share some time together. Beit sport, craft, movies, or just going to the park or the shops, you get to meet up on a regular basis.

Volunteers may be individuals, couples or families, with or without children.

This extends their social network, offers them new opportunities and experiences, and helps them to make new friends.

Previous experience in caring for a child or young person with a disability is not required. Free training and ongoing support is provided.

Interchange agencies and programs are located across Victoria as well as in Adelaide, South Australia, and Illawarra NSW.

Volunteering opportunities are available at all our agencies. To find your closest agency, visit the Interchange website.

All volunteers are subject to the following mandatory checks (at no cost to the volunteer): police check, Working with Children Check and reference check.
