Treasurer

An organised and reliable volunteer needed to join the Yangebup Progress Association committee as Treasurer.

The Treasurer helps ensure the YPA’s finances are well managed, transparent and available to support local community activities. The role provides the committee with a clear understanding of the YPA’s financial position, assists with grant funding and acquittals, and helps ensure funds are appropriately recorded and used for the benefit of the Yangebup community.

The Treasurer oversees the YPA’s community bank accounts, maintains basic financial records, provides financial updates to the committee and assists with grant applications and acquittals, including those involving the City of Cockburn. Support and handover will be provided.

Make a practical contribution to the Yangebup community while helping ensure local community funds are managed responsibly. This is an opportunity to use or develop skills in financial administration, budgeting and grants, meet other community-minded residents and gain experience in community committee governance. The role is ongoing but designed to be manageable around work, family and other commitments.

Key Tasks

• Maintain the community bank account.
• Keep basic financial records, organised receipts, reimbursements, etc, including for grants.
• Provide regular updates/reports to the committee on the YPA's financial position.
• Budgeting for community activities and projects.
• Assist with grant applications.
• Assist with acquittals for City of Cockburn grants.
• Ensure expenditure is appropriately authorised and recorded.
• Attend monthly committee meetings.
